Different people commission a bespoke piece of furniture for different reasons – however being unable to find their ideal furniture solution is the linking factor, along with a desire for high quality workmanship.

Bespoke furniture allows people to express their individuality – whether it be an appreciation of contemporary or more traditional design; an appreciation of traditional cabinet making skills or a desire to own something truly unique. Clients can have as much, or as little, involvement as they choose in the designing and specifying process. Although everyone gets involved in selecting their design, you do not then have to be involved in all the small decisions regarding the detailing and construction.

After the initial enquiry from a prospective client the following is the general way things work:
  • Visit to client location
  • Discussion of client’s design preferences and existing furniture in the home
  • A range of designs generated, drawn up and priced
  • Meeting with clients to present ideas and wood samples
  • Designs reworked to include client feedback
  • A design is selected and a deposit is paid
  • Making of the piece
  • Client is kept fully informed on progress and consulted on any additional decisions
  • Delivery and installation
  • Aftercare

I stress to clients that there is absolutely no commitment until a deposit is paid. The generation of designs is a part of the business which may or may not lead to a commission. Please let me know if you want some designs generating to your unique set of requirements.
